Today Patrick Stump broke his long twitter silence to announce that the release date for upcoming Fall Out Boy album M A N I A has been pushed back to January 19, 2018. This is following a strange email that some fans who had pre-ordered received earlier this week citing that the album would be ready for shipping in January 2018.
In Patrick’s statement, he outlines that the reason for the delay is that the album felt rushed, and that the band felt that the album wasn’t ready for release:

The M A N I A US Tour is going ahead as planned. It now looks like Australia will be the first country the band tours after releasing the album in January.
