Anyone that knows us is well aware how obsessed we are with LANY. Obsessed! We’ve had their self-titled debut album on repeat, so needless to say, we’re beyond excited the guys have dropped the music video for Super Far.
Directed by Isaac Ravishankara, the incredibly choreographed vid is colour drenched and nails the use of shadows. At the end, walking to the exit of a black and white set signifies the painful end of a long-distance relationship which was once vibrant and light.
Prior to this, LANY dropped a tour video for ‘Super Far’.
The trio made up of Paul Klein, Les Priest and Jake Goss have been on the road for the past two years, playing 117 shows in 2016… do the math, and that’s pretty much one show every three days. By the end of this year, LANY would have added another 135+ shows, in 28 countries, making them one of the hardest working bands in the biz. But when will they be heading back to Oz? The guys have promised they’ll be here in 2018.
‘Super Far’ was co-written by Ryan Tedder of One Republic. He’s also penned massive hits like Beyonce’s Halo, Adele’s Rumour Has It, Ed Sheeran’s Happier, and Taylor Swift’s I Know Places, which is a personal favourite off her album 1989. Super Far is continuing to rack up over 650,000 streams per day and currently has over 40 million listens on Spotify.
The song has also cracked the Spotify’s Top 200 and Top 50 Viral Songs globally. This follows the success of ‘ILYSB’ being the most streamed song through the Spotify Discover feature in 2016.
In case you missed it, Don’t Bore Us also marked the guys as our ‘Next Big Thing‘. If you are yet to give the guys a listen, we highly recommend 13, Hericane, Dumb Stuff and Flowers on the Floor. Lyrical perfection.
