Hordern Pavilion Sydney, Wednesday September 27
What the hell happened last night? WELL, the Don’t Bore Us team headed to the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney to check out The Vamps on their ‘Middle of the Night Tour’, and it was nothing short of amazing!!
From the second the British lads hit the stage, opening with ‘Wake Up’, a wave of excitement was felt from the audience. The bands high energy and catchy songs had fans screaming in a frenzy.
After lead singer Brad told us in an interview ‘Paper Hearts’ is his favourite to perform live, we had high expectations. Safe to say, he exceeded them all. Brad displayed his phenomenal vocal strength and held an undeniable connection with the crowd throughout the performance.

The band showcased their talents playing the instrumentals from songs like ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ and ‘Seven Nation Army’. BUT, nothing screams “talent” quite like a Jonas Brothers riff. Just jokes dudes, I’ll never compare Kurt Cobain with any former Disney stars again.
Throughout the show, the guys had some cheeky banter with the crowd and had a crack at their best Aussie accents… it was terrible, but we’ll forgive them… this time. What I’m not going to forgive them for though, is not playing ‘Cheater’!! It’s my favourite, dammit.
The encore featured their two biggest hits ‘Can We Dance’ and ‘All Night’ which showed the contrast in their sound from guitar-pop in the beginning to a now, EDM vibe.
Best track from the night? We’re so glad you asked! I can’t choose between ‘Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)’ and ‘Somebody to You’.
It’s been exactly one day shy from when we first met The Vamps in 2013, and there’s no denying the band continues to go from strength to strength.
