Fifth Harmony darling Normani Kordei has signed a solo management deal. It was announced on Saturday that the 21-year-old has penned a deal with the S10 Entertainment & Media family.

Over the years Kordei has released a series of solo projects ranging from dance videos to covers on her personal YouTube. It has also been confirmed she has been working on “new song ideas” with R&B artist Khalid. Fans have reacted positively to both the announcement of her solo career and the work she’s released so far.

Our personal favourite is this stunning mashup of Solange’s Don’t Touch My Hair and Cranes In The Sky. Keep your ears peeled for that whistle note at 4:15 that could bring a tear to Mariah’s eye.

Kordei isn’t the first Fifth Harmony member to pursue a solo career. Former member Camila Cabello left the group in December 2016 in favour of pursuing a solo career. Cabello had signed a  contract and featured on hit duet I Know What You Did Last Summer with Shawn Mendes prior to her departure. Current member Lauren Jauregui collaborated with Halsey on the song Strangers, a track that has been lauded for it’s bisexual representation in mainstream media.

The announcement comes off the back of Fifth Harmony cancelling a slew of performances for their PSA Tour in Australia and New Zealand, with the Perth show being dropped altogether. Whilst Fifth Harmony are yet to comment on the cancellation, it has been suggested that it was due to poor ticket sales. The venues have been downsized for the future dates with the promoter making the following statement:

“TEG Live, the promoter of Fifth Harmony, has regretfully advised, due to a change in scheduling, it has become necessary to postpone the tour until March 2018.”
