We don’t want to oversell it, but we’ve found your new favourite artist. For fans of Twenty One PilotsHalseyParamore and feminism, we’re so excited to introduce you to AViVA! And we are even more excited to be able to give you the global premiere of the first single from AViVA right here, on Don’t Bore Us.

We had a chat to AViVA about the single, and she told us  “this song is about not fitting in and not wanting to fit in.  Sometimes that can be really isolating but once you own it… it’s empowering.  I think at some point everyone feels like they have to fight, just to be heard, let alone understood.”. And honestly? That’s such a big mood. In fact, we’re gonna call it- this is the mood of 2017.

The team behind AViVA have a pretty extensive history of working with the big bands that we love in the scene, too. This list includes Ken Andrews, who has worked with some of our favs like Paramore and The Naked and Famous, and Matt Colton who has most famously worked with Muse and Coldplay. This track in particular was produced by Jean-Paul Fung, who has worked with Silverchair and Last Dinosaurs. So there’s some serious star power behind this amazing lead-single. But that’s enough from us, we’ve had it on repeat in the DBU offices for weeks- now it’s your turn.

Listen to the debut single from AViVA ‘GRRRLS’ below:

It will be available on Spotify at 12am for your local time, but if you just can’t wait, peep the single on Soundcloud:

GRRRLS stands as an invitation to join in the deeper concept she is building.  This song creates a bridge to the world inside AViVA’s mind, transporting us into the dystopian city of Metropolis, a place which provided the strength and experience she needed to stop trying to fit in and try something radical- to be herself.  GRRRLS is an anthem for girls, boys, men and women everywhere and serves as a reminder to stand proud of who you are, forget what others think and fight for the right to be you.
